Merry Christmas!!! :)

It is Christmas morning, and I hope that everyone is enjoying a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I'm working today from 7am until 3pm (I may get off early), but I'm looking forward to tonight. I'm cooking Christmas dinner, and we're having Logan's dad and brother over. I hope everything goes well in preparing the food! I got a honey baked ham (from the store, haha) and making green beans, a salad and other yummy stuff. Is that a traditional Christmas dinner? I hope so. ;) I had a very nice Christmas Eve. Here's a little background before I get into why I had a nice one. Logan's family in years past made cookie plates and handed them out to their neighbors on Christmas Eve. I got to participate last year, and I loved it. It makes people so happy... which makes me happy. :) And last year, Logan and I brought some plates to some of our friends in town. I still really wanted to keep that tradition going because it is such a nice thing to do, and people really do appreciate it. So, on the 23rd and 24th, I made some goodies (cookies, brownies, and muffins), and after having dinner with his family, we went and handed out cookies to their neighbors and then drove around and gave them to some of our friends. I love traditions...... :)
So, yeah... at work this morning... It's funny, I was telling Logan that leading up to the time when I have to work on holidays is harder than actually working on the holiday. I try to bear that in mind every time. Like yesterday, I was like, "I really wish I didn't have to work tomorrow," but now that I'm here, I feel good. Everyone in the lobby is really cheerful, and that makes me feel good. It's really cute, I've heard people in their rooms this morning going, "YAAAAAAAAAAHOOOO!!!" and another room go, "WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Santa must have been good to them this year. :)
I'm just thinking about my family right now. Today, my mom is on her way up to see my family (in Jackson), and my sisters are spending Christmas morning at my Grandma Mildred's. Today is my grandma's birthday. :) I'm happy that I get to see everyone in a few days. I got to see my mom and Kath the other day, and I'll see everyone else very soon! I'm trying to stay positive about working today. I'm trying to make people happy, and also, I have to be thankful that I have a job. So many people do not have jobs right now and would do anything (even work on Christmas) to have one. So I am truly thankful. :) That is what I have been trying to tell myself everytime someone hears I work today and they say, "Aww, that's too bad."
In a little bit when my co-worker gets here, I am going to sneak away and call my family to wish them a Merry Christmas (and my Grandma a Happy Birthday). :)
Well, again.... A Merry Christmas to you all!!! :)

I am the Queen of Procrastination!

Yep... I am. I have a paper due tomorrow, and I had three weeks to do it, and I haven't even started. I do this to myself every time-Why? I can't even answer that. Oh well! I always get it finished, but I just hate the time when I am trying to even get started, and I can't even motivate myself to do that (like how I am at this very moment). I need encouragement! ;)
Onto more fun subjects, shall we? I'm working right now, and it is so nice to be in the lobby with all the Christmas decorations. :) I can't wait to get a tree and decorate our place. Last year, we had this HUGE tree, and although it was overwhelming at first, I grew to love it. It made our apartment look so cool! I made Logan promise me that I get more say on the Christmas tree we get this year. haha...
I'm really excited because Logan and I know where we are having our wedding ceremony and reception, but I'm going to wait before I announce it on this blog until we have it set in stone (deposits, contracts, etc...), but I'm really excited! I can't even explain how great it feels to have the locations pin-pointed. I feel like we've accomplished so much just by having that part of the planning complete (well, almost complete, hehe). I'll announce it soon... promise! :)
So, yeah... work... has.... been..... really....... slooooooow......... I've been working most evening shifts on my own, and busy or not, it always makes me nervous to be by myself for that long-and it can get pretty boring. Oh well! That's when I can do my homework, right??? ha! yeah right! It's more when I can make time to blog! hahaha....
I hope whoever reads this is having a great day/night. I'm really looking forward to Christmas, and I hope everyone else is, too... :)
Have a great night, and wish me luck on finishing my paper! :)

My Thanksgiving Holiday :)

What a great couple of days... On Thanksgiving morning, I drove to Amador County to see my family. It was such a nice trip, and I'm so glad I got to visit with my family. :) I've been a busy girl lately, and I haven't been able to get home in a while. It was so nice to see my family and hang out with my sisters. Although it was great, it was only a day trip, so I left home really early, and got back pretty late (but it was well worth it!). I haven't seen most of my family since Logan and I got engaged, and even though I've talked to most of them, it was nice to see the look on their faces and to get all the hugs. I'm so happy that my family loves Logan. :) One other great thing about this Thanksgiving is that it's the first time that my sisters and I have been together in a long time, and we always have a lot of fun. I'm also really glad that Logan had a great Thanksgiving with his family. They had a full house at the Duffy's! Close to 20 people! I was so happy to hear that. :) This whole blog is about being glad! haha....
For people who are local (or people who visit), I have to tell you about a cafe that is my new favorite: Blue Sky Cafe. It's on HWY 1, and it's our new hangout place. We love to sit out on their wooden furniture outside in their nursery and have a bagel and coffee. The owner's are great and everyone is so nice. I love it! :) I was there this morning with Logan and his dad. :)
So, I'm at work right now, and I should wrap this up. I love Thanksgiving. I sure have a lot to be thankful for. So much...... :) It sure feels nice to be thankful and have gratitude for people and things in my life. :)
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas time.

Day 2 of the "blog thing" :)

I have to say that I am very excited that I have this week off from school for Thanksgiving. This is the first Monday I've had off in a LONG time, and it felt great! I must admit that I stayed home for most of the day and just relaxed. I'm very excited because I got a Borders Gift Card (thanks to Kath) :) for my birthday, and I went today and got a book I've had my eye on for a long time: "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. Has anyone ever heard of it? This man was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University as a Computer Science professor. He found out that he had Pancreatic Cancer, and his "last lecture" was recorded, and it's on youtube. He lectured about how we achieve our childhood dreams. He was dying of cancer, but was still so full of life and inspiration. His life lessons were in this lecture, and he dedicated it to his three small children. He went on to write this book. If anyone has an hour of time, and you want to watch Randy's last lecture, just go to youtube and google, "Last Lecture." It will brighten your day (and possibly make you cry. Lord knows I sure did). I can't wait to start reading it.
Today, Logan and I looked into more places where we can have our wedding ceremony. It's a lot of fun checking out our options, but I would like to have everything reserved and nailed down before the holidays. I know that a lot of people get engaged over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, and we want to beat them to the punch on getting a place to get married and to celebrate! haha... :) Wish us luck!!!! :)
Thanks to everyone who has read my webpage yesterday! It's funny, I was exploring on it yesterday after I posted my first blog, although I wasn't signed in (when I thought I still was). Then, I was clicking away, and it asked me, "What do you want your name to appear as?" (Or something like that), and I thought it would be cute to have "Soon_to_be_Angela_D." or something, but what I ended up doing was signing up another account or something! I was so confused..... Oh well! Live and learn!
Hope everyone is having fun preparing/looking forward to Thanksgiving. I know I have so much to be thankful for. :)
Good Night! :)

My first blog. Will anyone read it?

I have to admit that I haven't done anything like this for a long time, and I'm wondering how into it I'll get. I also have to admit that the reason I got into this is because Lauren does it. ;) It seems like fun, so here goes!
Just a fun little update for those of you who haven't heard from me in awhile. :) Logan and I got engaged two weeks ago (two weeks ago exactly!), and it was amazing. I couldn't be happier! We're hoping to get married on June 13th, and so far that date is looking REALLY promising! I'm laughing at myself right now because I bet that there are a lot of people who may try to avoid that day because it's the 13th, and that one day the anniversary will end up on Friday the 13th. I've already had someone ask me about that. haha.... I'm really looking forward to it. All my life I always hoped to find someone special, and Logan is WAY beyond what I was ever hoping for, and I'm just way too excited! :)
Other than the marriage business, I'm still working at the hotel and going to school. If everything works out the way I plan, then I hope to be graduating in May (and then married 3 weeks later!). Everything is looking really good so far, so I hope to be a college graduate in May 2009. Wish me luck, everyone. :)
I'm just at work at the moment, and waiting to go home. I think this is enough out of me for now.
Until next time... :)
